Module 1 · Marketing & Customer Acquisition
Platform it: the marketing tools already built
Tier 2 is where you stop typing and start configuring: ready-made platforms with AI built in, doing one marketing job on autopilot. The trap is subscribing to five of them. The move is renting exactly one — the one pointed at the job that’s actually costing you clients.
One rule before any pricing page: never pay a platform to do what a Tier-1 prompt already does for you. If a tool’s main feature is “AI writes your posts,” you have that. A platform earns its fee by doing what a chat window can’t: sitting on your website at 2am, holding your contact list, publishing on schedule.
Every figure here was verified when this module was written, and every one of them will drift. Read them as “starting around,” and check the vendor’s pricing page before you commit to anything.

AI website chat agents
This category works exactly the way it sounds like it should: you configure the agent in a back-end — feed it your website, your FAQs, your service details — and it hands you a snippet of embed code. You paste that into your website, and you have a working AI chat agent answering visitor questions and capturing contact details around the clock. No code, no building.
- Chatbase — upload your content, get a bot trained on your business, embeddable in minutes. Free tier to try; paid plans start around $32–$40 a month. Worth knowing: on base tiers there’s no human hand-off, so a question it can’t answer can dead-end.
- Tidio (with its Lyro AI agent) — live chat and AI in one workspace, so the bot answers the common questions and hands the rest to a human. Free plan available; realistic paid plans for a small business land under $100 a month.
- Intercom Fin — the heavyweight option, priced around $0.99 per conversation the AI actually resolves rather than per seat. Interesting once your volume is real; overkill before that.
Skip it if your website sees a trickle of visitors — a clear FAQ page and fast email replies do the same job for free until traffic justifies the robot.
Email marketing platforms with AI
A chat window can write an email; it can’t hold your list, send the sequence, or pick the send time. That’s what these are for — and the AI inside them now drafts the copy and subject lines too.
- Brevo — affordable automation with an AI subject-line assistant and send-time optimization. Free tier; paid plans start around $9–$25 a month.
- Mailchimp — the familiar, plug-and-play option with AI content generation and broad integrations. Free for small lists; the Essentials tier starts around $13 a month.
Skip it if you don’t have a list yet, or your “list” is a dozen clients you can email personally. Build the list first; the platform is for when personal stops scaling.
AI social-media managers
These draft the posts, design the graphics, schedule everything, and publish while you work — turning the content treadmill from a daily task into a monthly planning session.
- Buffer — the budget-friendly scheduler with an AI assistant on every plan. Genuine free plan for three channels; paid starts around $5 per channel per month.
- Ocoya — the AI-first option: type a topic, get a finished, designed, scheduled post in one flow. Starts around $15 a month.
- Publer — scheduling, AI assist, and analytics at a low price point, with recycling for evergreen posts. Free plan; paid around $12–$21 a month.
Skip it if you post on one channel — its native scheduler plus your Tier-1 batch of drafted posts covers you. (And the enterprise incumbent, Hootsuite, now starts around $199 a month — built for teams, generally overkill for a solo service business.)
The ad platforms’ own AI
If you run Meta or Google ads, you already own serious AI — the platforms’ built-in optimization decides who sees your ad, tests your creative variations, and hunts for the people most likely to respond. It’s included in the ad spend. Before adding any third-party ad tool, make sure you’re actually using the machinery you’re already paying for.
Skip it if you’re not running ads — this is a reason to use what’s included when you do, never a reason to start.
AI SEO and content platforms
These analyze what already ranks on Google for a topic and build your page or post to compete — targeted content instead of generic content, which is the difference between publishing and ranking.
- Frase — the budget pick: search-based content briefs and AI drafting, starting around $15–$45 a month.
- Surfer SEO — a live editor that scores your draft against top-ranking pages as you write. Around $79–$89 a month — for owners publishing regularly and serious about search.
Skip it if you publish less than a page or two a month. At that volume, a Tier-1 prompt plus your genuine expertise is the better investment.
How to choose
Don’t buy the category — buy the fix. Name the one job that’s costing you clients right now: visitors leaving your site unanswered, a list going cold, a Google presence that looks abandoned. Rent the one tool that does exactly that job, give it a month, and measure whether it earned its fee before you even look at a second one. One tool, one job, live this week.
- Never pay a platform to do what a Tier-1 prompt already does — platforms earn fees by publishing, hosting, and holding data, not writing.
- Pick the one job costing you clients and rent exactly that tool; measure it for a month before adding another.
- Treat every price as “starting around” and check the vendor’s page before committing.
