What you’ll have at the end

A small tool that lives in one folder on your computer. You open it, say new proposal, and it walks you through a short interview about the deal — who the client is, what you’re proposing, the price, the timeline. Then it drafts the whole proposal, you edit it together, and it produces a polished, branded PDF you can send.

Every proposal it makes has the same backbone:

• A short, warm introduction.
• An “Understanding your needs” section built from your interview answers — the part that makes a prospect feel seen.
• A clear scope of work, the investment, the timeline, and next steps.

Why this is the perfect first build

A proposal is pure Pattern A — the Claude-driven tool shape you met in Module 1. It’s writing, judgment, and a repeatable format. There’s no data to store and nothing that needs to live on the internet, so it runs entirely on your Claude subscription and nothing else. It’s the cleanest possible place to start.

Set up the folder

1. If you don’t already have a my-tools folder from Module 1, make one now — on your Desktop, a folder named my-tools (lowercase, no spaces). This is where all your tools will live.
2. Inside my-tools, create a new folder named proposal-builder.
3. Open Claude Code and point it at that proposal-builder folder. In the Desktop app, start a new session and choose it as your project folder. Not sure where that setting is? Ask Claude “how do I open my project folder?” and it’ll point you to it.
4. Turn permissions on the way you did in Module 0 — “Auto accept edits” in the Desktop app — so Claude can build without stopping to ask on every step. It’s safe: this is a fresh, empty folder.
